Follow Rachel Oto:

Rachel Oto pairs vulnerable introspection with her powerful contralto growl as she pushes the Singer-Songwriter genre to its cinematic Saloon Rock limits. Her latest release, “All I Could Carry,” chronicles the internal pain and turmoil of homelessness and hopelessness while painting rich sonic landscapes lush with heavy guitars, primal rhythms, and sweeping strings.

Drawing inspiration from Johnny Cash, Ennio Morricone, David Bowie and No Doubt, over the course of two releases, a string of singles and countless live shows, Rachel has crafted a musical niche for herself that is dark and brooding, yet energetic and captivating, with a live show to match.

After the rise and fall of the all-girl garage band she started in high school, Rachel set her sights on becoming an artist under her own name. She moved to Los Angeles, and spent the subsequent years writing and developing her skills. In 2015, she began working with producer Andrew Monheim of AndromiDen Recordings and Monheim Microphones, to further craft her sound. This on-going collaboration has so far resulted in Rachel’s debut EP, “Run,” and more recently, her latest EP “All I Could Carry”.

Fighting in the face of adversity has been a recurring theme in Rachel’s music whether it’s been the fight against the status quo in “Cornered and Lines”, the war against one’s internal darkness in “Demons”, or facing the fallout from a broken relationship in “Angel”. Says Rachel, “So much of my music is born from my own struggles, I can only hope that it can be used as a tool for people dealing with battles of their own.”

Rachel, a seasoned road warrior with multiple tours under her belt, intends to continue spreading her fight songs all around the world.
